Don, I agree. I had to get my columns up and out there and decided to do so with a slapped-together site while I build a proper interactive site. ANd, yes, I am getting expert design input.

(With apologies to Dr. Seuss!)

So, Daan, you went and caught the flu!
That was a silly thing to do!
Did you have your jab this year?
Do you have it every year?
Or do you say, "No jab for me!
I want my system to be free!
Free to pick up any germ
That plans to use me for a term!"
Or, are you sick despite the jab?
It didn't stick? It didn't grab
The bits of you that kill the bugs
By squeezing them in mighty hugs?
(I've seen the scanning EM slides.
I've seen the lymphocytes' dark sides!)
It matters not, 'cause sick is sick!
I hope you get real better quick!
Perhaps you've caught the bug called swine.
I'm told it's scared of good red wine.
Drink a swag. Get rotten drunk,
Then that bug will do a bunk!
(No, I'm sure that isn't true!
Getting rotten drunk won't do!)
Here's a plan (if you are game!),
Send it back from where it came!
Cough and splutter on a pig,
And do a sneeze that's REALLY BIG!
(But no, I know, you can't do that.
You can't get rid of flu like that!
Besides, you'll never get new pals
By being mean to animals!)
So, Daan, I think you're stuck with it.
You'll have to lay low for a bit.
I'm sure that you'll recover fast
(Although I'm told the cough can last...)
Drink honey lemon on a spoon,
And Daan? I hope you're well real soon!

Hi Daan. I’ve visited your new site and find it very unfriendly. It is all dark and uneasy to work with. I like your idea to let off steam on the site but you need to open the screen more and give more options as where to go to get what you are after. Get a better site designer.

As for the tree falling in the woods and does it make a sound. I have said over the years to many who wish to debate this issue that the sound will still be there regardless if anyone or any beast is there to hear it. We pick up sound with our hearing because we are there when the sound was made (which means the sound was made). Even if you weren’t there the sound is still made ready for an ear to pick it up. Yes, the tree falling in the woods presents a sound weather you are there or not. Think about this: If the tree fell and made no sound you couldn’t hear it even if you were there. But if a tree fell and made a sound you could hear it if you were there as the sound is only waiting for a receptor to hear it.
